A lot of parents dream of hitting the road in an RV with their kids, but not many families would choose to live that way full time. Well, that’s not the case with today’s featured Tiny House story! Meet are the Longneckers, a family of SIX that have been living full time in an RV for the last 5 years! They started out by downsizing into a fifth wheel trailer, but after a few years on the road, they realized it was too big. Parking their giant trailer was difficult, and they weren’t able to go off-the-beaten track as much as they would have liked. So they downsized once again! This time into a renovated vintage airstream.

- The Longneckers were able to find a vintage airstream for just $13,000. That’s a steal when you consider the new airstream of the same size could retail for up to $96,000!

BUT…. WHERE DO THEY ALL SLEEP?
With very limited space in their renovated vintage airstream (only 220 square feet) the Longneckers had to get creative with their interior design. The four children share a sleeping space, with two parallel bunk beds in the middle of the trailer. The parents sleep at the end of the trailer, and every night they have to make their bed by folding down the dining table and re-arranging the couch cushions into a mattress. This process might seem like a pain to some, but sometimes creature comforts have to be sacrificed if you want to live tiny.

The Longneckers have had some amazing experiences over the last five years. They hike and camp in some of the United States’s most beautiful locations, and they home school on the road. Brigitte Bardot is a well-known French actress, and Nicolas-Jacques Bardot is her only son. He was born in 1960. Initially, Brigitte wasn’t sure if she wanted to have a child, but her love for Jacques Charrier, the actor she was with, led her to keep the baby and marry him.
Brigitte Bardot didn’t want the public or paparazzi to see her while she was pregnant, so she stayed at home and even gave birth there. She was nervous about holding her newborn son and wasn’t sure about being a mother. All she wanted was to get back to her acting career as soon as possible.
After their baby was born, Brigitte Bardot and Jacques Charrier set up a photoshoot to show journalists that they had a happy family life. The actress managed to look loving and happy in the pictures. These photos were then sold to a major publication for a good price.
Brigitte Bardot and Jacques Charrier soon divorced, and their son, Nicolas-Jacques, stayed with his father. Jacques wanted to raise Nicolas-Jacques himself, and Bardot agreed to this arrangement.
Nicolas-Jacques studied economics at a well-known university in Paris. He also had a passion for music and enjoyed making his own tunes. At 22, he approached the famous designer Pierre Cardin to explore a career in modeling.
While working in the fashion industry, Nicolas-Jacques met Anna-Lin, and they got married in Oslo. They have two daughters together. Initially, Brigitte Bardot was hesitant to accept her granddaughters, but eventually, she grew closer to them.
Today, Nicolas-Jacques works in computer programming and technology. He remains deeply in love with his wife, and together they are happily raising their grandchildren.
